EMI/EMC Testing
Electromagnetic interference (EMI) occurs when one or more electronic devices adversely interfere with the operation of another electronic device. Any radio frequency (RF) transmitting device, such as a cell phone, laptop or computer connected wirelessly to a network, has the potential to electronically interfere with the operation of another electromagnetic device because of the physics governing radio waves. Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) on the other hand means that the device is compatible with (i.e., no interference caused by) its Electromagnetic (EM) environment and it does not emit levels of EM energy that cause EMI in other devices in the vicinity. All electronic devices immaterial of whether they are radiating are not need to be electromagnetically compatible.
Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) and Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) are very important considerations in any electronic product development and critical for system integration. Products must legally comply with international EMC standards which have been developed to control conducted and radiated emissions from electrical and electronics systems.
TTSL has the state of art test facility for EMI/EMC measurements. The EMI/EMC chamber is a 4 m X 4 m X 3 m ferrite shielded chamber constructed by Siepel. Ferrite absorbers are installed in the anechoic chamber. The testing facility is fully automated by Agilent EMI/EMC measurement system such as EMI Receivers and EMC Pre-compliance Analyzers and the EMI/EMC measurement software.
TTSL offers comprehensive pre-compliance testing services for EMI/EMC (Electromagnetic Interference/Electromagnetic Compatibility) to the wireless, embedded, IT industries in the following areas:
- Radiation Emission.
- Radiation Susceptibility.
- Conducted Emission.
- Conducted Susceptibility.
- Diagnostics and Problem Isolation.
We are absolutely flexible in measurements where in you may book any of our measurement facilities on a full day or a half day basis. We also handle antennas directly shipped to us through post where in we do the measurements and deliver you back your antennas and our measurement reports.
